Banished By Choice, or In-The-Gadda-Da-Viva-Las Vegas is a collection of free-form poetry, a blast from the past, the late 1980s. This is the very first published work from the prolific and unique mind of Scott A. McClanahan (in collaboration with special guest, friend, and song-writing partner, Hoby Abernathy) republished now for the first time in nearly 30 years. This collection of ramblings and poems by a couple of young men trying to find their way in life is a reflection of those years through the filters of anger, humor, alcohol, depression, and rock and roll. It can be simultaneously irreverent, heartbreaking, offensive, embarrassing, deep...yet extremely shallow. This republication tries to retain the look and feel of the original, which was pecked out on manual typewriters in late night hours a long time ago. You can probably find a lot better poetry than this, but you definitely won't find any quite like it.
